Legalities Of Free Images For Blogs

If you’re reading this article and starting a blog, you probably already know there’s legalities around blogging. This can get confusing for newbie bloggers who still want to use high-quality, free images for their new blog. You also probably know you can’t just take images off Google search or copy from others… simply put, that’s copyright!

When working with stock photos, you are given the right to use the photo in various ways but you DO NOT own the property of the photo itself. For more information on using images legally, check out this well-written article by Search Engine Journal.

So, to keep this post simple and ensure you use the photos LEGALLY, the images on the websites below can be used in your blog posts. But, here are some tips to be aware of and follow:

• Do NOT assume they can also be used in your blog branding, for selling or commercial purposes.
• Do not use an image unless you know its license
• Always give credit to the source wherever possible
• If possible, produce your own image
